Community Tasting Notes 20

  • fussyeater Likes this wine:

February 20, 2023 - Deep perfumed and v pure nose showing cassis and violets. Medium bodied, silky tannins with well defined succulent red fruits. Midpalate is expansive and very open. Borderline tertiary. A joy to drink now.

July 29, 2022 - The wine of Eleanor d'Aquitaine! How cool is that?! A bit old-fashioned, a bit uptight (understandable.. ). I found it a bit green, but it does credit to its heritage. Well-liked by the whole group, overriding the unfair assessment of some critics.

    February 25, 2022 - February Livery Dinner 2022
2007 Ch. D’Issan – initially violets on the nose with a delicate perfume, tannins evident but soft. At first it seemed that it had vigour left but that soon faded leaving a slightly green essence. Probably towards the end of its shelf life.

December 26, 2021 - Was still pairly young and lively. Certainly has more age possibility. Drinks very nicely for christmas dinner

March 24, 2019 - 13.0% - Clear, med to deep garnet / clean, med to pronounced intensity - blackcurrant /cassis cream, liquorice, cedar notes, brown sugar, cigar leaf, bellpepper / dry, med acidity, med fine grained tannin, med body, med+ intensity, med length. Within drinking window. Quite elegant with a very seductive nose, well balanced for the vintage and not too green, downside really is on the length.
