May 6, 2009 - Not what I think of as a Syrah. No dark undertones at all. Rather light.

March 12, 2009 - Excellent value! A lighter fruity well balanced beautiful little Syrah from a great wine maker.

November 3, 2008 - Wow, I thought with the name Babcock behind this wine it would be good... but, this was a bad wine. Barnyard funk nose and green earthy and over ripe fruit taste. I hope this was a bad bottle, but I doubt it- just tasted like poor quality. Would not buy or recommend.
Waited 20-30min and no improvement, poured out and opened something else.

July 6, 2008 - Santa Barbara Trip - July 2008 (Santa Barbara County, CA): tasted at the winery. this is babcock's second label syrah, but it packs a lot for the money. purple colored with lots of plums, blackberries on the nose. same on the palate, but this also some complex spice and earth notes. it's fat and rich, but has solid tannic structure. much more complex than most syrahs at this price point. would be a great wine for a by the glass program for sure.

May 22, 2008 - Blueberry, blackberry, cedar, and black pepper on the nose. Blueberry, blackberry, vanilla, and a huge black pepper finish. Tannic at the finish but less tannic as it gets more air. A little light on the mid-palate.
