December 25, 2023 - Very smooth and pleasant for the age. Probably at its peak. A one hour decant.

October 1, 2021 - 1.45 hour decant. Mint, warm cherry and hint of pipe tobacco on the nose. Boysenberry (fruit bottom yoghurt from the 70’s) plum and black fruit with medium to fine tannins in the mouth. Drinking nicely, will try a 1 hour decant next time.

June 18, 2016 - Drinking perfectly now. Wont wait any longer. Rather polish these off now and hold off on 09s.

March 28, 2015 - Fully ready, quite lovely nose. Dark fruit, plum, nuts, ink and mineral. Subtle hints of iron. Good complexity and good depth. Some disturbing hints of green peppers and dried herbs.
Medium-fullish body. Good fruit attack with plum, integrated oak, and tobacco. Slightly harsh tannins, though. A bit lean on the finish. And a bit short. The vintage shows in the palate.
Compared to both 2007 Evangile and Conseillante (tasted 1 and 2 years ago), this Pomerol made a weaker impression. Drink while fruit lasts.

October 2, 2013 - Some wines of Jean Pierre Moueix stable with Stephane Laborie (JPM) (Caveau Wines & Bar): The 2007 Château Certan de May is dark ruby in colour with a noes of blood cherries, rust and dirty wet soil. On the palate, an entry of rust before progressing to dirty wet soil and slight black currants tone and plums. Tannins are quick to take over pretty strongly that unfortunately 'cuts' the wine flavours on a rather short finish. Rather linear with fruit flavours just falling off, but powerful grippy tannins indeed. Medium (+) acidity. Has loads of tannin weight, but fruit factors are just 'broken apart' almost, could use a little more character perhaps?

May 17, 2013 - Have to agree. It's still pretty oaky. But there's a nice wine in here. I'll leave for another couple of years

March 17, 2012 - LCBO paid tasting: The was under nitrogen for 2 weeks and really should have been refreshed a week earlier (I wasn't charged). Tannin was brutal so if you have any I say it needs 5+ years.

October 21, 2011 - Great young drinking claret. Fruity and classically Pomerol. Has legs but fun and drinking well now.
