September 29, 2020 - From my cold cellar, where it has been tucked away since release. Going very strong with the nose being intoxicating and seducing. 95 nose. Palate struggles to keep up, though is still outstanding, nicely resolved and full bodied and in good balance = 92 palate. Altogether a world class drinking experience and while at peak, there are no signs of downhill development. Should thus keep for a long time still

August 26, 2020 - Jammy ripe fruit. Still has perceptible tannins in the foreground at age 17. Brambly blackberries and licorice. A bit of heat on the finish.

September 6, 2019 - Very intense, but I found it a bit unusual for N. Rhone with those strong black fruit notes and overall expression somewhat reminiscent of the right bank Bordeaux, especially Saint Emilion...

December 31, 2018 - Odd and difficult nose: cherrywood embers, menthol, rusty pipes, grilled pork fat. Missing sauvage, and no discernible floral or fruit aromas. Palate has some bitter chocolate, thyme, bell pepper in a light structure and short finish. Holding out hope that its awkward now and will transform its Rhone light status to something more elegant over time. A 50/50 proposition. The next morning, wine has taken on more weight and depth, and lost the vegetal edges. So, I gave it another point and expect it’s still 3 or 4 years away.
