November 2, 2015 - Medium ruby starting to lean to orange at rim. Spicy, medicinal Pinot fruit on the nose. Tart fruit and animal blood. Good weight, good grip. A touch under ripe? I don't see future improvement. Nice but not special. (89)
June 29, 2014 - Classic Burgundy. Elegant, well-balanced with great character. A subtle wine, but very enjoyable.
June 17, 2013 - Dinner at l'Apicio (New York City): Bricking ruby. Really classic nose; geranium, florist's shop; raspberry red fruits; oak (but mellow and integrating). Really shows as '02 with its charm and pleasure. Palate is less ready, however, chewy and tannic yet, but classic; good sweet, red fruit, pie cherry; little evolution in the direction of spices yet, though -- wait for that. Fine balance; lovely, elegant length. Terrific.
April 29, 2007 - My last bottle. Nose beautiful but slightly reticent; cherries prominent in the elegant palate, less oak than its reputation suggests. Perfectly balanced.
March 13, 2006 - Nose: Clean, nice fruit, strawberry, cherry, together with some mushroom/forest and woody notes. Elegant.
Palate: Clean, fruity, mineral, fresh and complex. Cherry, wild strawberries. Balanced. Long.
December 5, 2005 - MDH: Aromas of smoked meats, canned tomato sauce, nice, but not great
