March 3, 2019 - Ok...

February 25, 2019 - Someone at Premier Cru attached a tiny ribbonlabel above the bottle label that says: "RED RHONE DESSERT WINE...ALC.14-16.5% BY VOLUME". Well, not really a dessert wine, but deep, dark, near syrupy black currant and blackberry reduction might confuse. Alcohol certainly closer to 16 than 14. Lots of wintergreen, bitter chocolate, white pepper, smoked berries, and a long still tannic finish. Astralis like. I dumped a lot of that down the sink, but this has better structure, concentrate not from pure heat, but from quality winemaking. This is five years away from start of its peak, its still a bit hot, primary, and tannic. I suspect it will gain a point or two by 2024. If you must drink now, decant and keep cool for two hours.

December 23, 2018 - Dark red with browny rim; lots of spices, some black pepper; spiced attack (Xmas), very very powerful, sweet notes; very youthful, lots of rigour, long long aftertaste; was decanted a couple of hours, so youthful, guess it won’t peak for many years - and need some years (at least) to settle down more, develop its potential for more nuances, right now “in your face” power promising more subtle experiences in the future

November 24, 2017 - Very tight upon opening. Then Sat in the cellar for a couple of hrs. Once I poured with dinner it was in a superb place. A very deep dark syrah. A little sweet but not hot like others have mentioned. A long lasting ripe fruit on the tongue.
