September 3, 2015 - This still has life to it. Subtle nose of dark berry fruit and a liveliness that hint of red fruit. Palate is where its at...resolved and integrated tannins with a nice spice and tartness to it. You might mistake this for an aged N Rhone. 15.3 abv
February 2, 2013 - Wonderful wine, although nearing the end of its useful shelf life as it were. Surprisingly fruit forward; nose better than on the palate
May 13, 2012 - Wonderful Zin...sadly my last Porter Creek. Excellent with a sausage-based lasagne..smooth and lush.
December 6, 2011 - Earthy, with a bit of barny funk and a surprisingly grapey aroma at first, along with more oaky heat than i like. Better the second day.
April 22, 2011 - Nose: Ripe, ripe blackberry, black cherry, mixed spices, and alcohol. Palate: Similar flavors. Nice concentration, balance, and mouthfeel. Fruit forward (not overly so), easy drinking zinfandel.
March 30, 2011 - dark red, cranberry nose, medium body plum palate, not jammy but well balanced and enjoyable with fusilli and tomato/shiitake/arugula sauce
March 4, 2011 - Over the hump possibly cooked through the heat wave, but even the beginning was empty with a cooked taste finish.
July 30, 2010 - restrained. very good. not a jammy fruit bomb, like many CA zins. i'm a fan.
December 30, 2009 - This was a really nice Porter Creek. This is the kind of wine that made me fall in love with them in the first place.
January 5, 2009 - This wine was finicky for me, starting out a little disappointing but eventually resembling the IWC note, full of red berry flavor without overt concentration or heaviness. A nice wine but one with plenty of competition at this price point. 89-90.
