April 27, 2019 - Gobs of chunky and fine sediment. Nearly a glass worth. Should stand up this bottle for more than 2 weeks!

I wonder if bottle was slightly corked. Have a second to compare...

Nose of cherry port, aged musk, and frankly, musty cardboard. High toned cherry. Pale medium red. Elegant, light but very lean and bit acidic. Difficult to score this one... on its face a 89, but I feel the stuffing was there for something better like a 93+. No one at table finished their wine as well, unfortunately (a birth year present). hence my thinking this was corked. So not scoring this for now.

May 18, 2012 - 1978 Barolo & Barbaresco with The Rare Wine Company (Del Posto, NYC): Bricking blood ruby. A touch of rustic fertilizer on nose; dust, mint, and hints of fennel. Now, loads of caramel/toffee/brown butter (meaning one aroma hinting at all those things). Palate beautifully balanced, good sweetness -- showing the toffee, again. Still masculine with tannin. Later: nose now exploding with the finest couture leather. Glorious, riveting, heartbreaking nose. What a way to start the night!

December 29, 2006 - A wine that vastly exceeded expectations. Completely typical. Very traditional in style, with a brick red color (i.e., just a hint of orange) and slight clearing at the edges. Notes bright, ripe cherries, loam, and a very pure minerality. Acidic and lean, but in a way that only made the essence of Nebbiolo completely evident. Very youthful, with assertive tannins. Obviously from a well-stored bottle.
