November 24, 2023 - Friendsgiving Dinner (Schur House - Riverwoods IL): Walkaround tasting. Long in the tooth, but this was also a bit oaky and high octane, which made it seem even more lackluster and charmless.
November 8, 2020 - Aged to perfection. Decanted for 30 minutes. Light hay color, stone fruit, long finish. Wow.
May 27, 2020 - Solid, beautiful color, showing no age, decanted for 1/2 hour, perfumed mountain flowers, lemon, long finish. What a delight.
March 1, 2020 - Brilliant color for its age, youthful, crazy finish, wow
February 15, 2020 - Another btl and tasting great.
February 14, 2020 - Solid, light coloring, delicious on the palate with a long finish.
November 12, 2019 - Flat out delicious and got better the longer in the glass.
February 27, 2018 - Pale yellow, nice apple and pear nose, 30 minutes of airtime in bottle did wonders, dense orchard fruit, honey, on palate with citrus in background. Much less acidity than our previous bottle (2013). Very long fruit finish. Wine has matured nicely and doesn't appear to us to be in decline at this point. Served with pan seared cod.
January 31, 2018 - Initial blind thought was a Montrachet, heavy and dense on the palate, dealightful and a long life ahead. In this flight this ap was the best out of 4. It's a buy.
February 21, 2016 - nice mature Cali chardonnay …..nothing elegant about the wine , a real mouthful , enjoyed , just on the downside of peak i think ……..
