March 31, 2022 - This is fine but I’m not really feeling it. Color is a beautiful dark ruby. The nose is also exciting with warm earth, mature fruit, crisp bacon and herbs. There is a warm aura. If falls a bit on the palate. Plenty of stuffing and some good, ripe rugged fruit. What bothers me is a bit of bitterness and heat on the finish. It’s just a tad overdone which is a real shame. I am pretty sensitive to this style so it might not bother others but I believe this could have been much better. (89)

November 29, 2020 - a classic tour tine drinking beautifully now. What amazed me is the two days later the wine opened up completely and with nose full of cassis and berries

Mourvedre Wine Tasting, Episode #603, 1/5/2009 (link) 93 points(Domaine Tempier Bandol Tourtine) #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-burnt rubber; very rustic; earth driven; barnyard; ugly sheep running around; some black currant on the back-end; TASTE-over priced, but this is damn good; this is well made; I get a really lively cherry component; this is very good wine; very complex; classic Mourvedre (rustic & tannic); good black fruit; a spiciness; a little pepper; you get a little cinnamon kick the back-end; this is a well played effort; great bitter tannins; will last 15+ years easy; this has an extra layer of jaminess & complexity; good fruit; the black pepper and the gaminess are so distinct; great complexity -- this wine takes me on a journey; this is a spectacular effort; GV-93
