December 3, 2017 - Deep purple hue that opens with smoked leather and tomato leaf. Full-bodied density that layers red currant, roasted tomato and cured meat on the palate. Great acidity/fruit balance with slight sandalwood on a lingering finish.

    April 26, 2015 - Can't say it better than Klezman's note. Nice wine. Score [ 50 + 5 + 10 + 14 + 8 ] = 87

December 4, 2014 - Light, earthy, cherry, and savory herbs. Nice wine. Didn't scream Rioja to me the way some of the others did, but it's a well behaved wine that would go well on its own or with plenty of different foods. No need to age further, but will likely be good another year or two.

January 29, 2014 - PnP and consumed over four hours. Didn't make a lot of notes.

My singular impression is the need for a bit of time to let this open us. Upon my first pour after opening the bottle, I thought the bottle was corked and I was at the point of pouring it down the drain.

Fortunately I didn't. Within an hour it opened up, showing strong typical Rioja notes, combined with marked acidity and a dollop of mid-palate tannin. After two hours open (in bottle, no decanting), it packed a considerable red fruit type punch, without losing the acidity. Overall rated very good (85-88)

January 8, 2012 - For the price I was expecting something pretty average but this wine dispel all my price prejudices! Stewed prune, herbs and some vanilla on the nose. Taste is surprisingly fresh with black and red fruit, some choc and vanilla richness. Delicious
