August 27, 2023 - Excellent Muscadet, in great shape although just barely starting to show signs of slight oxy, lovely with tertiary character, slightly soft, overshadowed by the 2008 which was stellar. EWG Loire dinner at Otono

August 27, 2023 - Also starts off shy like the ‘07, but O2 does the trick. A bit simple but does gain some depth through the night. This was less complex than the ‘07 with less intensity and salinity. Still, a nice one tonight.

February 25, 2022 - Agree with reislingfan. This is still quite nice with bright notes, but overall vibrancy and citrus fruit and seaspray of its youth are a notch or three lower now.

February 12, 2022 - Why did I keep several bottles this long? Pure experimentation. This was a good wine, but would have been better a couple of years ago. Still a lot of seashell, but the citrus fruit elements have dropped out, so it’s mineral water with a rich finish. Interesting but not something I want more than a glass of at a sitting.

November 24, 2021 - My last bottle and it was good but not great. Brighter and livelier than prior ones but really, too much so. The acidity stuck out and threw the wine out of balance. Pleasurable all the same if not complex or noteworthy.

(Domaine de la Pepiere Muscadet "Clos des Briords") This is just a delight. Really tighly coiled now but with great finesse and incredible concentration. Great rainwater-like flavors, rapier-like acidity and astounding length. The best Briords I have ever had...hands down. The extraordinary concentration puts it in that super-exalted category.
