November 24, 2021 - My last bottle and it was good but not great. Brighter and livelier than prior ones but really, too much so. The acidity stuck out and threw the wine out of balance. Pleasurable all the same if not complex or noteworthy.

September 10, 2021 - Orleans. Still lots of mineral. Good match at this stage with grilled swordfish.

April 11, 2021 - Fresh and surprisingly unevolved. None of the honeyed notes that mature Muscadet can get. Instead this is all bright citrus and seaspray and acid, there's a lot of acid. Without food, the acid dominates the rest of the wine, but seafood smooths it out. Not as good as previous bottles I've had.

March 15, 2021 - In it's youth this wine was the poster child for the descriptor "liquid rocks." As it has gotten older it has maintained the intense minerality. The excellent acidity has less of a knife's edge as the wine has gotten rounder with age. It remains one of my favorite Briords vintages. It's not just for oysters anymore, in this case sautéed salmon fillet.

December 16, 2020 - My last from a case. Still showing really well. Stone fruit on the nose. A great blend of yellow fruit and stone in the mouth. One of the best QPRs on the planet.

(Domaine de la Pepiere Muscadet "Clos des Briords") This is just a delight. Really tighly coiled now but with great finesse and incredible concentration. Great rainwater-like flavors, rapier-like acidity and astounding length. The best Briords I have ever had...hands down. The extraordinary concentration puts it in that super-exalted category.
