April 10, 2024 - PnP. Gentle nose - cinnamon, spices, tart wild strawberries. Elegant and spiced, red fruited with some florals. A bit of earth and iron. Elegant and restrained. Finish is tart and red and somewhat bitter. I’m beginning to realize I really like M. Gaunoux’s style with their Rugiens and Epenots. This showed poorly the next night after being poured into small capped bottles for a zoom tasting. Nose - 5-5.5/6, Palate - 5/6, Finish - 4.5-5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1-1.5/2 = 15.5-17/20.

October 29, 2021 - Beautiful floral, berry and plum nose. Chelan cherry, raspberry, beef stroganoff, earthy and palate filling; Incredible balance and a knockout for 2003 vintage.

September 10, 2016 - Opened at a tasting of Beaune Pinot Noirs, I thought this wine showed very well and is just entering its prime drinking window. Bright, medium ruby red; very little sediment. Elegant floral and earthy nose. Ripe red fruits (raspberry, cherry) cut by an earthy minerality makes both it approachable and interesting.

December 4, 2015 - Finished my only 2 bottles at my wine group's annual holiday lunch at Bibou. Tasted some from each bottle which were the same. Color showing maturity with slight browning at the rim and cherry at the core. Earthy nose with hints of licorice. Soft mature palate with cherry, raspberry, spice, earth and licorice. Nice balance and finish. I would drink up if you have it.

May 31, 2014 - Stinky merde nose covers up the raspberries and beef. The palate is very tasty with ripe raspberries strawberries and a hint of earth. Very good.

March 6, 2012 - As below, right to the bottom. Nose, palate, finish of a quality that enchants. The bottle was at a lower temperature than the others I've had, and the evolution of warming, both in the glass and inside the mouth, is just intensely pleasurable.

January 27, 2012 - A rich, enticing, and complex nose that makes you glad you've got this wine open. Well-rounded palate also with good balance, I totally agree with the fine tasting notes below. An excellent young red Burgundy.

January 19, 2012 - Wines Through the Decades (Jade Palace, Forum Galleria): I thought this was brilliant for such a young Pommard, and a 2003 as well - I would never have guessed the vintage if blind-tasting this again. It had a lovely nose dripping with natural fruity sweetness, full of red cherries and strawberries, just a bit candied at the edges maybe, and a whole raft of flowery aromas that were more Chambolle or Volnay than Pommard. It was only the earthy minerality chasing the perfumed scents that hinted at the wine's terroir. The palate was lovely, especially for a 2003, and a Pommard - this had a wonderful sense of finesse and elegance to its otherwise rather rich, ripe, very sappy flavours of red cherries and berries. Rich, but there was a lovely sense of purity and energy here. It was surprisingly fresh as well - I could not pick out the vintage because of the bright, almost lacy acidity that it had. The finish was delicious too, with a little grip of slightly chalky tannins wrapped around a mouthful of red cherries and a hint of herbs like a velvety jacket. A top-class Burgundy, and one that seemed very much in its youth. This is one Pommard well worth hunting down and cellaring if one is not too adverse to its slightly modern sweetness.

December 23, 2011 - 2011 Simple Dinner Series 14 :: Ed's big day (Jade Palace Seafood Restaurant, The Forum Shopping Mall, Orchard Road): Alcohol :: 13.5%
Dark ruby with pink hue. Very sweet on the nose with powerful dark fruits that wrapped by meatiness and spices. Sweet but not over the top, huge sappiness and this is especially fine for this plot without any rusticity. Fullish and expansive on te mouth. Still a baby. This have all the material, harmony for the very long lived and develop for greater complexity and nuances. A great Pommard!! 93-94+
