    February 15, 2024 - Nose: 88; Palate: 89
    My #8; Group's #8; Tasted Blind.

December 28, 2023 - Medium deep brick red.
Aromas of roasted coffee, cherry liqueur, Valrhona chocolate, hawthorn, serrano ham and soiled earth.
Mellowed tannin. Blackcurrant acids and black tea bitterness.
Palate of sloe, blackberry jam, sweet cherry, rosemary, balsamico and grilled meat.
A mature, structure-driven and multi-layered typical southern Rhone with sun-ripe, yet fading, dark fruit, beautiful balance and mouth-watering acidity. Drink within 8 years. Tasted 2023.
Tasted along with Gevrey-Charmbertin, Les Cazetiers, Leclerc, 2005. In comparison, the present wine displays livelier fruit and greater personality. All in all a greater wine.

May 16, 2023 - A once bright red that is fading to orange-brown at the edges. The cork is a short one but has held up perfectly and has a firm connection. Decanted for sediment. Nose gives little away, but this shines on the palate, brimming with delicious sweet red fruit, olive, spice and leather. Tannins are resolved as you would expect but there is still some grip present which is rather nice. It is at its best in the first hour after opening, after which there is a dip as a bitter tinge creeps in (as other reviewer notes). It does seem to then improve again at about the 3 hour mark but perhaps this is just a tired palate. This was a lucky dip from The Wine Society, who sold a number of mixed cases of wines well past their (usually highly conservative) drinking windows. So far 2/2 have been great and in no way over the hill.

March 31, 2019 - I'm afraid this was not a great wine. It had a slightly bitter finish. Leather and strawberry. Quite sweet, medium body and alcohol. Medium finish.
Don't think the bitter finish will resolve .... perhaps just a bottle variation? I doubt it.
