September 22, 2020 - this was surprisingly sweet for a kabinett and could do with a bit more acidity and complexity
December 29, 2019 - Yellow gold colored. Primary smells of apple and apricot with a bit of petrol/diesel. Tastes of apple and apricot. Acidity is well-balanced by the slight sweetness.
October 19, 2018 - Similar notes to last bottle. Lovely intensity and balance with lots of apricot notes and more viscous texture than usually found in a kabinett. Nice now, but will last a long time (A-).
January 3, 2017 - Fritz Haag, not many do it better in Mosel. Apples and honey, stunning acidity perfectly balanced by a comfortable "kabinett-sweetness". Some years in the cellar has done wonders for this wine.
December 25, 2016 - Stunning energy, fresh apple toned riesling. Thrilling.
January 26, 2016 - Great way to finish a night after a Volney and a monster Russeaud, light sweetness and touch, great after meal wine
July 4, 2015 - Green hues, ripe, sweet, good crunch but lower acidity, a bit too easy going for me.
November 12, 2014 - Excellent Kabinett. Sweet and acid very well balanced. Based upon earlier TNs, I think some of the sweetness has subsided. No reason to rush to drink this, although I am not certain how much better it will get. I have a few more, and I look forward to drinking them over the next 5 years or so.
October 10, 2014 - Light golden yellow in colour. Lovely if still light nose of floral, smoky and minerally stoenfruits and citrus. Quite complex on the medium bodied, off dry palate, with apricot, pear, honeyed apple, cinnamon and cloves: there's a slate nose infusing everything as well. Better than expected now (well integrated already), but will last too (A-),
May 30, 2014 - Quite intense and sweet, but delightful, juicy and pleasurable. Apples and candied acidity. Pure. Great minerality
