March 17, 2020 - Light shone thru, some orange hues near the rim. savory smoky briny nose. Palate is very dry, with a hint of fruit. More acid than tannin propelling the finish. Not great but not bad considering the vintage.

August 20, 2016 - Clear red, clear edge with slight orange tint, thick drops.
Red cherries, raspberries, oak, vanilla, tobacco nose.
Red cherries, raspberries, wood, slight acidity taste.
Nice fruit, decent acidity and rounded tannins. Pleasant.

January 11, 2016 - Decant for at least 1-2 hours. My wife and I both LOVE this wine! It has that lovely squeaky dry tannic finish that lingers in your mouth long after the wine has been swallowed.
Honestly, this is the style of wine that we both seek out when buying French wines. Fantastic!
Please comment if you find other wines like this. Thanks

May 21, 2015 - as predicted, it's had its time, decent evening tv wine - little tannins left.
the body is not bland but doesn't stay that long in mouth.
hard to detect striking notes but it drinks itself well

October 25, 2014 - It holds itself better than 2 years ago. Tannins are much better integrated and there is a silkiness to it on the palate.
Dark berries and a bit of earth

May 17, 2013 - Pleasant aromas. Medium body. Reasonable acidity. Closed on the palate. My overall impression is that it will not improve much with age. However, hope is the last to die

March 3, 2013 - in 2011, I was in an air france lounge heading home from paris. they had several wines open and I noticed a 2008 bordeaux. it was a name I knew (though cannot recall now). I thought it was too young but tried it anyway. it was delicious and drinking perfectly. whoever selected that wine that day would know what to make of this wine. I cannot. I just don't know enough about bordeaux to say it was too young, too old or just not that good. that won't stop me from rating it though.

ok, day 2 it was much better. 88.

avg the two for an 86

March 13, 2012 - Beautiful cedar box surrounded by wet earth with a hint of eucalyptus. Leathery cherry, some tobacco. Some grip on the tongue, but not overwhelming. Paired perfect with the grilled ribeye I had tonight. A friend to the meat as opposed to its boss. What a great value!
