February 17, 2018 - A bit disappointing. Soft and jaded. Would need more grip or edge to be interesting. Hope it's just this bottle as I have another in the cellar.

February 13, 2014 - Geur tabak, gedroogde pruim, bosbes, beetje leer
Smaak cassis, aangenaam zoetje, bijna Pomerolachtig-fluweel, botertje en een beetje vanille -

February 2, 2013 - Eye: deep purplish red. Nose: plums, cherries, berries, smoke. Palate: fresh. Good fruit, herbs, pepper, medium body, medium finish. Very nice affordable Margaux.

October 6, 2012 - It's good, but young. Will try older vintages

November 2011 (link) 14.5 points(Château Rauzan-Gassies (Margaux)) Some smoke-tinged fruit here, with an ill-defined fruit profile, suggestive of sweet red candy but it is difficult to discern anything more specific than that. The palate has an appealing composition though, stylish and not too substantial in terms of weight. It seems very appropriate for the vintage. It comes across better in the mouth than it did on the nose. There is actually some promise here, despite that rather dry and dusty finish.

October 2009 (link) 15+ points(Chateau Rauzan-Gassies Margaux) There are some appealing although admittedly fleeting aromatics here, with a little honeyed oak too. Notes of violet perfume. Attractive, supple fruit on the palate, not overworked, and more accessible than some. Chalky tannins. Fresh, lifted, with pebbly red fruit flavour. A decent wine.

April 2008 (link) (15-16+) points(Chateau Rauzan-Gassies Margaux) This is considerably more reticent on the nose than the Rauzan-Ségla, but it has some attractive fruit alongside the oak. Supple, rounded, becoming a little more lean through the midpalate. Appealing, peppery, ripe and dense tannins and good acidity. Some perfume here, a grippy finish, and a rather aromatic length. Good, but it just lacks a little precision.
