January 29, 2024 - Fruits noirs, graphite, fleurs mauves, tannins fondus, acidité moyenne, un délicieux Bordeaux à point. Rien de '' Wow '' mais c'est très bon.

September 17, 2023 - Had gone past its best, not a lot of fruit.

August 13, 2023 - ‘01 Clerc Milon in full swing. Purity of black currant. Well integrated. Some dusty attic as well. Proper and restrained claret, not a blockbuster, and thankful for it.

February 26, 2023 - Starting to taste mature. Some browning at the rim, good cassis profile, nice fruit. Vintage character softness on the finish. Nice but at peak I think.

January 14, 2023 - Served to us at a dinner party, paired with Beef Wellington. Both the beef and the wine were delicious! Clerc Milon is owned by Philippe de Rothschild of Mouton Rothchild and they are neighbouring properties. I understand he's done significant upgrades on the property and newer vintages are delicious - but I've not had one. This wine, however, was terrific. It's in the middle of its drinking window, with smooth tannins and good balance. Though there are some tertiary characteristics, this has a lot of life left. It's more in a mid-weight, savoury style which I love and pairs well with food.
