Im Gaumen mit einer schönen Balance aus Reife und Frucht, die Gerbstoffe sind von sehr guter Qualität, die Säure wirkt stimmig, der Wein zeigt lediglich eine mittlere Konzentration, hat nicht die Grösse von den besten Mouton-Jahren, doch das ist Kritik auf hohem Niveau. Langanhaltender Abgang mit Cassis und Trüffel im Rückaroma. Jetzt bis 2035 geniessen. 92 vvPunkte

February 18, 2024 - Enjoyed at home with rack of lamb after 1.5 hr decant. Not the most complex Mouton I’ve tasted, but very balanced….tannins soft now. Would drink; I think will not get much better. A calm but beautiful Pauillac still. Recently drank the ‘96 which was more layered and holding up better.

February 9, 2024 - Drank this in a blind drinking party, it was the third one to be drank, after 99 Latour, 98 Haut Brion, and before 99 Lafite, 99 Margaux and 98 La Mission HB. Performed the worst when compared with the others. Lacks distinguishable characteristics.

December 25, 2023 - After 1 hour in the bottle and 10 min in Riedel Sommelier Bordeaux Grand Cru the wine was in a perfect balance.
I expected a thin wine, but it isn’t. -
