    September 30, 2019 - Wow drinking quite nicely.
    While a bit light and thin initially, the tannins, raspberry and cherry on the pallate suggest plenty of life left for several years.

    June 13, 2017 - Enjoyed this wine with friends. Rich, dark purple in color, red and dark fruit, shows very well in the glass, seems to have lost some of its fruit (perhaps that's why it was a touch acidic??), good mouth feel and an enjoyable finish. Went well with fried quail and southern grits.
    Although good, this Staglin did not stand up to a 1998 that we enjoyed several weeks ago.

    January 20, 2017 - 375ml. Dark notes of cigar box/cedar, leather, almond/frangipane, anejo rum, star anise, yielding to some blackberry-ish familiarities.
    Fine tannins for a cab and an explosive middle palate leaving a fatty feeling (like beef fat feeling, smooth and silky I suppose) on the tongue. Medium-long finish. Well built mature wine that's reached its crescendo in the small bottle.

    September 29, 2015 - very nice. quite similar to the 94 mondavi but a bit more fruit forward and less nerve on back end. Still, this is a very good wine with lovely cab notes. Graphite, dark berries and tobacco.

    September 17, 2015 - Decanted for about one hour and enjoyed over dinner. This remains in a really nice place. Very good aged California Cab. The wine has developed a mature profile and went great with grilled rib eyes. No rush on these. Should drink well for another 10 years
