  December 28, 2019 - Exceptional wine. Really balanced - intense flavors of mocha, cedar and dried cherries. Rich and vibrant. Still had another 5-8 years.

  January 20, 2019 - The nose showed a rich and expressive mix of crushed raspberry and blue berry, with notes of mocha, cedar, and sweet tobacco, as hints of moist earth, wild herbs and minerals evolved in the glass, adding depths of complexity. On the palate, I found soft textures matched by juicy acidity, it's tannins perfectly resolved, showing briary red berry fruit giving way to subtle undergrowth and earth tones, with savory-saline mineral thrust. The finish was long, as saturating raspberry and wild berry fruit slowly faded from the senses, leaving a zing of zesty acids on the senses.
  
  The '06 La Massa may finally be on the downward slope, but it is still so pleasurable.

  April 16, 2017 - Popped, poured, swirled for 20 minutes and jumped in. Milk chocolate and a floral note on the nose. Kinda tight, showing tart dark fruit and brine on the palate, with chalky tannins on the finish. There's also a slight barnyard note mid-palate. Plenty going on here, and should hold up for another year or two.

  March 5, 2017 - What a "Super Tuscan" should be. Good balance of aged old world Cabernet character with Sangiovese fruit and acidity. I mean acid for days.
