March 21, 2024 - PnP then decanted and drunk over 1h. Deep red, turning crimson towards the rim. The nose is smoky, bacon-like, more forest floor and black tea than red fruits. On the palate, it's very well balanced, remaining fresh, lively, and persistent. A wonderful Cornas with several more years ahead.

March 6, 2024 - Still a young wine. The fruit is dark, concentrated, notes of tar, smoke, bacon, dark olives. Tasted over two days, does not really move.

March 5, 2024 - First bottle from a case of 12. Dark red color. Very tight and closed not giving away much. Dark fruited palate, plenty of fruit, limited evolution. Very hard to get a read at this at this stage, this is massive in terms of material. More open on day 2 apparently. Wait another 5 years at least. Granit 60 tasting chez Lillelund.

June 7, 2023 - Tasting Ground official tasting, Cornas La Geynale, From Uncle to Nephew (Oinoscent): Bottles open 10.15 and tasted 14.00, no decant
Heartier, heavier and warmer in the nose, the fruit is riper, cherry and berry, the oak is more upfront. With time you also get darker notes like licorice next to maraschino and sour cherry, elegant, decadent
The palate is big showing juicy black fruit, clove, peppery notes, dense tannins, full body and long finish. This one has a couple more decades to run

June 7, 2023 - The wine is clear, with deep ruby colour, garnet towards the rims, and think legs.

On the nose, the wine is clean, with medium plus primary aroma intensity of ripe red and black fruits, plums, spices, black pepper, plums, floral, blossom, herbal, along with medium plus tertiary aroma intensity of meat, and cooked fruits.

On the palate, the wine is dry, with medium plus acidity, medium ripe tannins, medium plus alcohol, medium body, medium plus primary flavour intensity of ripe red fruits, plums, spices, black pepper, herbal, floral, along with medium tertiary flavour intensity of meat.

Finish is long, with green notes towards end palate.

The wine is of a very good quality as it is showing great balance between fruit concentration and acidity, with excellent length, and expressive primary and tertiary characteristics. It is complex, and keep developing in the glass throughout the tasting.

The wine was expressive enough at time of tasting, however showed pronounce tannins and slight green notes, thus I believe it can benefit from just a bit more bottle aging, in order to soft down the tannins and bring to front more of the tertiary characteristics.
