September 21, 2011 - seemed to have more fruit and sugar associated with it at this point of its life cycle.

June 3, 2010 - still a dense color. intense barnyard on the nose. this wine should last another 3-4 years, no problem.

April 1, 2010 - Popped and let open 15 min in glass, after which I was REALLY excited: explosive black fruit, round and balanced tannins, just dynamite. With more air, however, the nose became an overpowering beef-blood scent, and not in a good way for me. Flavors became subdued, still nice and round with some backbone but flabby over the next hour. Not bad, certainly time to drink, and maybe others won't see the same bloody nose I did (or be less sensitive to it).

March 29, 2010 - Novoino's 4th annual portfolio tasting (Park Hyatt Hotel, Chicago IL): nose: excellent nose of crushed rocks, black cherries, black fruits, pepper and bits of violets

taste: full bodied with chewy tannins and very balanced tones of black fruits, crushed rocks, black cherries, charcoal, and some bits of black pepper

overall: this was a really good syrah. I loved the more northern rhone take on the tones, but there was definitely prominent dark fruit on both the nose and palate

January 16, 2010 - a wonderful nose. a little barnyard and fruit on the nose. very dark in color. drinking well at this stage, but still has some staying power to last longer.
