June 24, 2012 - Smoky and bone-dry but somehow fruit forward, tannic with lots of cranberry tartness up front. Hints of savory herbs, anise and peppercorn at the end. Most of this is very subtle, though; this wine was lacking in depth of character that left something to be desired. The heavy, almost oily mouthfeel completely contradicts the pretty, floral nose. All in all, interesting and very rustic.
