  May 14, 2010 - Had it over two nights, once to accompany kale with prosciutto and a peppery clam pasta, the second time with a cheddar cauliflower gratin. Huge, fruit-forward, California-style wine. Tons of dark red fruit, solid tannin followup. A delicious juice at first but after a while it was too much of a muchness. Certainly a big wine for the $15 price tag, but somehow I'm not keen to have more.

  February 28, 2010 - Medium weight. Dark berry, but very restrained. Somewhat earthy. Really disappears on the mid and back palate.

  October 7, 2009 - A: Deep purple, an "evil teddy bear eye"
  N: Woodsy sweet wild blackberry. Briar patch, smoke and clove.
  T: Very organic, woody light tannins, bit green.
  F: Little bitter apple peel.
  Overall: Love the label, love the name for some reason, did not love the wine. Just never opened up to a meaningful expression.
