December 25, 2014 - One of my favorites. Drank in 2014 I held it too long.

August 22, 2012 - A nice fruit forward wine. Primary aromas and flavors of cherry, strawberry along with seasoned leather. More California than Italia but very tasty.

February 18, 2011 - This is a great everyday wine although for the price you could probably find a bit better but all in all not bad and very enjoyable. Had it with whole wheat pasta made with a cheese, mushroom, broccoli and chicken sauce.

July 6, 2010 - 2005 Chianti Classico Riserva, 13 pabv; $17/750 ml; Kroger; Troy, OH. Banfi Vintners, Old Brookville, NY.

    Tech info from web site:

85-90 percent Sangiovese with balance traditional Chian varieties. Ferrmentation
In temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks@25-30C for 7 days, moderate extraction.
Malolactic 2 months after primary fermentation.
Barrel aging regimen--3 months in 6,000-12,000L Slavonian oak (1,200-2,400 gallons).

    Harvest Brix: 23.1 Alcohol content (%): 12.9
    pH: 3.56 Extract (g/lt.):28.9

Color Intensity: .84 Method of fining / collage:
    Bentonite
    ACIDITY (g/lt.)Total: 5.2 Malic: 0.07 Volatile: 0.47
Sulfur dioxide 115 total; 31 free.

Double-decanted. Cork-finished (unimpressive). Denser purple-black than is usual for type.

Tight at first with anise, herb, and floral notes, with the cherry becoming more expressive with time.

Full Montmorency fruity cherry with a toucn of cherry-stone bitterness with a hint of volatility at first that disappears with swiriing. Crisp acidity with medium tannic mouthfeel. Moderately concentrated but with good length. With some time in glass, comes together nicely.

Served with zucchini and tomato casserole with mixed-cheese Reggiano topping, a very appetizing 'wash-down' match.

    Drink now-2015. 88/100

Nose with hints of black fruits, meat and oak.
Medium bodied with flavors of sour cherries, wood, oaky vanilla and coffee.
Not complex, with a quite watery aftertaste.
    To drink now.

April 9, 2010 - I liked this much better this time, I think I might have had a 2006 last time or there was an issue with the bottle because it was definitely lackluster.
