July 31, 2021 - A nice and very mature wine. Vintages 1966-1988 and bottles 2001. It still quite sweet with some nice mushrooms. There are however some holes in the taste - you can fill them out with some mild blue cheese like I did. Its time to drink up.

July 8, 2016 - Full-bodied, off-dry, heavy on the oak, exhibiting notes of vanilla, corn syrup, stewed yellow fruits, and wood grain. Was past its prime, though still made for a great pairing with melon. 13.5% ABV.

August 16, 2015 - Nice blend of 15 vintages. Less residual sugars than my usual QdC, but a nice dose of beeswax on matured fruit, with a good amount of acid to balance and carry a long finish. Very nice bottle!

December 31, 2014 - NYE with Cathy. Classic Chenin nose of ginger ale, lanolin, honey, apricot and marzipan. Medium sweet, moderate acidity, slightly warm ginger finish. Medium length. I think this was the best bottle yet.

December 6, 2014 - An Evening in the Loire Valley: Westchester Wine School (White Plains, NY): Drank at WWS Loire tasting (my contribution). Dark amber color, Light to medium bodied. Apricot & peachy notes on the nose, slight oxidation that blew off. Decent fruit level, some sweetness but balanced by the wine's avg acidity level. Not particularly long or complex. The wine has held up well and still has a drinking window ahead perhaps for a few years. Note that it was difficult to drink after tasting the Quartz de Chaume that followed it.

December 21, 2013 - Early Christmas with Cathy. Medium yellow-orange. Medium intense nose of dried apricots, honey, tangerine, orange zest/marmalade. Had a touch of corkiness but I don't think it was corked. Fresh, rich -mid-palate, medium sweetness and balanced, medium length. One of the best bottles yet.

October 11, 2013 - Advanced golden color. Sherry nose that quickly blew off. Think rich spatlese sweetness level. It did very well with habanero sauce, but was a tad cloying/rich on its own for me. I could also see it working with cheeses. Certainly a food wine. I would open soon as I don't expect any improvement.

September 28, 2013 - Unusual color, gold with a pinkish hue. Honeysuckle lychee nose. Apricot, honeysuckle, orange blossom on the palate with a hint of lime. Very well balanced. Sweet, but dry enough to drink with a variety of foods.
