February 17, 2024 - Much different than 1st bottle, interesting variation not sure how to process, good not great with high balsamic notes and earthy dominant.

December 25, 2023 - Very deep, rich and interesting nose. Fallen leaves, dried dark fruits, little bit of funk. Also a hint of minty eucalyptus. Gorgeous acidity and lovely mouthfeel. Dried red cherries with deep compote, aged leather, wet clay, earth, drying leaves. Still plenty of tension and tannin here as well. This is a lovely wine it has density complexity, richness, and light on its feet. I am probably 94 on this.

November 16, 2023 - With Beef Loin Tritip…..
Herbaceous upon open. Good crimson color.
Cassis, boysenberry, caramel and nuts. Slight sweetness and tobacco. Dusty tannins and a bit of semi sweet chocolate. Really strong showing. Showing very old worldly.90 minutes in it turns darker so I would drink in the next few years. -

October 8, 2023 - This was a great surprise (well, I had never had a Dalla Valle CS). Bottle was in excellent shape with maybe 6 mm of ullage and a minimal, almost imaginary, amber rim. Great balance of fruit (currant, blackberry, other dark fruits) and tertiary (gigar box, tobacco, leather) scents. Absolutely at its peak. I am rarely so confident I have caught a wine at its peak, but this would probably not have been as outstanding 6 months either way. Brilliant bottle of an aged CA CS. Really enjoyed it.
