August 2, 2019 - Drinking nicely. Wonderful creamy palate. A little tannic and dry after an hour or so but a really nice bottle.

    March 16, 2019 - Short :45 decant.
Dark fruit and cedar. No sharp edges and some secondary flavors of tobacco , lemon peel and prune
A slight bit of cherry tartness on the finish from the Sangiovese

December 22, 2018 - Salty liquorice on the nose, the palate is consistent with the nose and delivers savoury mineral herbs, the aftertaste is sophisticated and long. In a perfect place now but will hold fo years. Definitely one of my favourites in this vertical comprising -04, -01, -00, -99, -98, -97 -95 and -03 vintages.

December 8, 2018 - 2+ hour decant. A very interesting wine. Black fruits up front with red fruits following. Some underbrush and forest floor. 20+ second finish.

December 1, 2018 - Kreuzritter - Vol. 3: Tasted blind. From magnum. The highlight is a nice complex bouquet with only first tertiary aromas kicking-in. From this well stored large bottle format it needed a long 5 hours decant to open up and become smooth and it became better and better the longer it sit in the glass. Still quite fresh and youthful.

TN: Lots of dark fruit, minerality, tobacco, leather, barnyard, forest leaves, herbal scents on the intense and clean nose. More fruit and less tertiary aromas on the palate with red fruit and more herbs and wet stone aromas showing. Strong tannic backbone but fine-grained and smooth, still a lot of well-integrated acidity keeping it fresh and young. Long finish (but especially at the beginning slightly dry).

Decanting: A perfect magnum like this needs certainly 6-8 hours, for regular bottles 2h+ hours might be the right thing to do.

October 5, 2018 - Yup. Super Tuscans all taste Bordeaux like. Sweet ripe Bell pepper and pencil shaving on the nose with more toasted oak and black currant fruit on the palate.Long and refined finish.

September 6, 2018 - Great Wine at a perfect stage and window. To be enjoyed right now. Still dark colour and very clean appearance. smells great with some notable developed scents. At the mouth is velvety silky and without any harsh. Good acidity and tannins are very balanced with delicacy. So Ready to drink. Very Nice! Go for it. That was my last bottle of 2001 vintage. Drunk it at a perfect stage. memorable!
