July 24, 2020 - Fantastic showing tonight. Everything you except from this year and this wine. Solaia at its best.

June 17, 2020 - TO T̶u̶e̶s̶d̶a̶y Wednesday Night Zoom Tasting (Vancouver, BC): Tested blind next to the 2001 Dominus. Bordeaux-like, yet ripe and forward, with plenty of leather, green tobacco, rich black cherry, and dried fruits. More intense on the palate and showing its richness, with a generous amount of tar and clove spice. Lots of structure here - almost mouth numbing. Definitely showing it's Super-Tuscan typicity. Drinking well but if I had any bottles I'd love to see where they go in 5-10+ years. I preferred this to the Dominus

June 5, 2020 - An outstanding wine in all respects; fully mature, but still shows a very youthful appearance and a full bodied texture. Pronounced, and complex, tertiary aromas and flavors: dried purple flowers, pungent red currant, old leather, aged cigar, powdered chocolate, dried raspberry, dehydrated plum, crushed cherry, melange herb classique, balsamic, and dried forest. The Cabernet Sauvignon dominance really shows, not only in the flavor profile but also in he structural framing, which adds to ageability. Fantastic finish. Not likely to improve with further cellaring, but also, not in any danger of fading over the next five plus years

May 24, 2020 - This is fully mature and largely tertiary in nature. Figs and dates on the nose and palate, along with a touch of saddle leather. Rich sweet stewed fruits abound - this is quite like an Amarone. Dry tannin provides the backing, along with moderate acidity, which will carry it a few more years but it is fully ready to go now. Long and complex.

February 4, 2020 - Ouvert 1heure avant. Le 'vert' domine ce vin qui démontre beaucoup d'austérité. Pas dans mes goûts. Je re-visiterai demain. 89-90pts

January 18, 2020 - San Diego WineSpectator.com Offline al tartufo, 1/18/2020 (Solare Restaurant, Liberty Station, Point Loma, San Diego CA): Clear inky deep garnet color. Glorious bouquet of fresh blackberries, cherries, leather, violets, lilac, stony red soil. Similar on the palate, full of life, full body, seamless, beautiful balance, polished tannins. Classic Super Tuscan, classic Italy. My #1 and group's FIRST PLACE.

January 18, 2020 - Opened about an hour before drinking. Beautiful nose of cherry, tobacco, orange peel. Balanced and elegant. Paired magically with a black truffle filet and spinach.
