May 16, 2009 - Dark red in color. Mild bouquet. A lovely barolo. Drinkable at 9 years. Nice balance of fruit and wood. Has the pronounced barolo "zing" Altogether an affordable and very pleasant wine. We decanted the wine. At first there was a pronounced raisin flavor, but this disapated and a more fruit like flavor predominated.

March 9, 2008 - Very nice nose of flowers, spices like clove and cardamom, cherries, raspberries and a good dose of tobacco. On the palate, it is seemless with somewhat less acidity than I expected for a relatively young barolo(vintage related) and a long dry slightly grainy tannic finish. Overall, a good experience with a new love of mine, Barolos.

November 4, 2006 - Tasted this wine with Matteo Ascheri at Winecellar of Silene in Waltham MA. I do not know how long the bottle had been open - perhaps 1 hour or a little more. Truffles, tar, liquorice, plum and dried roses. Very nice. Excellent tipicity but not huge. Mr Ascheri suggested drinking now and for the next 6 or 7 years. He advises cellaring no more than 7 years for this vintage and other hot years.

February 25, 2005 - Dinner with CS: We started with this Barolo from the bottle. Based on the preferences of CS and the shape of the bottle in combination with the nice color (light red with small hints of orange) I immediately guessed young Nebbiolo. Powerful tannins and beatiful structure. Way too young but still very satisfying. My second WOTN.
