December 2, 2022 - Wine evening (Restaurant Krietsch, Schwäbisch Gmünd): Popped and poured. Clear, medium golden color, very advanced. Nose with ripe warm fruit, nice, but not as complex as expected.
Elegant, racy acidity that is a bit unbalanced, fruit is not that clean, beautiful mineral core, fresh. Lacks a bit the tension and energy I am always admiring in Egon Müller's Kabinett. Medium finish. Probably not a very well stored bottle? 89-90 -

Well balanced and in a good drinking window now but IMO a bit too sweet in the finish. But it is dancing like a ballerina on your tongue. 93 -

10/3/2004 (link)(Egon Muller Scharzhofberger Kabinett) Great nose of minerals, sweet tarts, honey, petrol and white peach. Really nice acids. Maybe too high for some people at the table . . . but just right for me. Great fat 2001 fruit along with the wonderful minerality that comes with this terroir. Long finish with amazing purity. My Kabinett of the vintage. This will age gracefully.
