June 18, 2023 - Simply exquisite wine, one of the best i have ever had the good fortune to consume. A fruit dominant shiraz for sure, but balanced beautifully with appropriate tannin and acid. Fruit is strong but light, darker than strawberry but much lighter than blackberry which is surprising with its opaque dark red color. Earthy substrate adds character after the fruit assault on the front palate. Balance is so smooth and integrated it is hard to separate tastes, it is all there and all powerful but unless you get really picky it is hard to discern and just becomes a magnificent coming . together. Absolutely no sign of age, could have another 10 years at least in it.

August 27, 2021 - At supposedly 16% alcohol rating, I was thinking “oh dear” and a fruit bomb. Fortunately, my fear was very much misplaced and it turned out to be an excellent wine.

Still plenty of acid left and quite sprightly, it is beginning to show some age but not much. What impressed me most was the quality of the fruit, structure and acidity that kept the alcohol at bay. You could sense it around the middle palate if you go looking for it. Lovely finish with a nice touch of mineral to go with it. Tannin has soften out and not dominant. Certainly need to decant well before consumption, I’d suggest 2 hours.

Drink now or up to 8+ years.

June 20, 2021 - Decanted about 1 1/2 hours prior to serving with grilled lamb chops with mint gremolta.
    Exceptional wine. HUGE nose.
Black cherry, laced with vanilla and spiciness. The finish goes on forever.
Continued to evolve over the course of the evening.
The balance hides the high alcohol level.
This is one of the better Shiraz I have ever had.

April 26, 2021 - 2006 @twohandswines Ares #areswine #barossavalley #australianwine #australia is a delicious huge #shiraz loaded with black cherry and spice. Well balanced even with a 16% alcohol. Velvety texture and no browning after 15years, bright color and fruit flavors. Glad I have one more since only 500 cases
