October 21, 2022 - This is richer and more powerful than either the Gravelly Meadow or Red Rock Terrace drunk alongside but doesn't show the same elegance and nuance. Concentrated and intense with nice complexity on the finish even if it shows a bit of heat. If you like a bigger style of Cab then you might rate this higher.

April 9, 2017 - Decanted at Joe's and enjoyed with a great steak. Rich and earthy. Tannins present but softened. Subdued and elegant fruit.

May 18, 2014 - 92-94: Not sure we did this wine any favors, it was a PnP, although it was decanted for a bit over an hour. These wines still need significant decanting, so the result was a tight wine, possibly in a bit of a dumb phase. Fruit wasn't quite popping, still tannic, and a little disjointed. That said, the wine is truly intense and beautiful, I just couldn't help but feel we let it down.

March 24, 2011 - Decanted for two hours before we even began sipping. Still a lot of alcohol to dissipate. The wine opened up over the next couple of hours. Beautiful, textured tannins. Wonderful dark fruit, cedar, spice followed by some great earthy tones.

November 23, 2010 - Pretty amazing. Laser-beam focus and luxe mouthfeel. The nose is just as laser focused as the palette: here is not an opulent sniff-fest with which to dissect every wafty nuance, but more an overwhelming face full of Essence de California. Layers of cedar and spice, with fine lines of oak always present. The alcohol, labeled at 14.1%, did show itself a little out of balance, but the long and precise finish made up for it. On the whole a superbly crafted wine, which could probably benefit from another couple years in the cellar.
