June 7, 2020 - Really good, this may be the bargain of 01 Barolo, iirc it was under $30 on release. Drinking super well, tannins resolved but (this bottle) still had primary energy, though earth and loam were a little more than a few years ago; lapsang souchong tea still there (apparently that was in a note of mine from 07😆). Juicy and fresh while soft at the same time. In a good place; drink or hold depending on your aging preferences...

Edit - these were $23 in 05!! and it was earl grey in 07 but I stand by lapsang souchong now

May 26, 2020 - Solid, though somewhat basic, classically styled Barolo. Still young for my preference.

October 18, 2019 - Solid little wine that is great with food if a bit foursquare overall. Definite bricking throughout with a dark ruby core. The aromas are earthy and bright with notes of red berries, tar, smoked meat, and licorice. The palate is lean and expressive with crunchy red fruit, floral complications, and approachable tannins. Definitely could use more density but this is a good value if you like the style.

February 27, 2019 - Dark garnet in color with slight bricking edge. Nose of plums and espresso. Tastes of cherries, plums, tobacco, and hint of shiitake mushrooms. Resolved tannins, lovely fruit, and in a good drinking window. Drink over the ext 5 to 7 years.
