October 1, 2023 - Is it really four years that I opened a bottle of these? Well, it might have gotten even better: medium garnet turning brick. A beguiling nose of red fruit, dried rose petals and maybe a touch of broth. In the mouth very nice concentration; tannins now dusty. Very long. Very classy burgundy.

February 1, 2022 - Forest berry more than cherry earth subtle florals. midweighted and graceful on the palate. there’s intensity without heaviness. Sappy and supple with more of the same forest berry fruit, dark cherry, earth and ferrous notes. some lovely basil like cooling herbal notes. A lovely mix of fruit and earth. With more air time, it becomes more savory and earth driven with more loamy earthy and ferrous notes come to the fore. It's not terribly dynamic, but honest and very good.

June 16, 2020 - Flawed, not corked but dead on arrival with nothing to offer but shrill acid and old barrel tannins.

April 21, 2020 - Perhaps past its prime. Primary flavors are gone now. Very earthy. Not my favorite at the moment.

April 11, 2020 - Mature colour, garnet. Lovely nose, black cherry, sous bois, some tannin still left. Very dry on the palate without food. Very good.

November 3, 2019 - No formal note: still in very good shape. Nice round fruit, a slight touch of dried flowers and a note of black tea. For me a great classic with nice depth and complexity. How much longer will it hold? Difficult to say, but certainly prime drinking now.

September 1, 2019 - Coravin tasting. Followed a Savigny Lavieres from same producer and same year.
Similar nose, floral, fresh, red fruit. Maybe a little less intense, no sous bois yet but may come. Some tannin but not as tannic or structured as the Savigny. Perhaps a little subdued, lacking intensity, perhaps even lighter and more ‘watery’. Dry finish.
