December 23, 2020 - WOTN. Dark ruby color. Violets on the nose. Blueberry, plum black raspberry, licorice, coffee and touch of cedar on the palate. Elegant and layered. Full bodied with a long lingering finish. Served from a magnum. The fruit seemed very slightly diminished from what I expect it was three to five years ago otherwise this would have been a 95. Drank in some pretty heavy company with an '06 Dunn Napa, '11 DC Gravelly Meadow and a '10 Freemark Abbey Bosche'. Spectacular.

April 22, 2018 - This wine is singing right now. Slow ox'd for an hour. Still has a lot of backbone, and the black fruits come through nicely. Wonderful wine.

December 31, 2017 - Wonderful at 10 years old. Dark fruits, spice, cassis and pencil lead. Great dark red color, smooth tannins and lasting finish. Beautiful with dark chocolate. The Lucy bottle (inside joke) did not disappoint

September 13, 2015 - This wine is at a crossroads between primary and secondary dominant tastes. Fruit is fading, some earthiness showing itself. Still drinks well, but expect this transition will continue in the near term.
