October 14, 2023 - Kleur: Robijnrood met een dunne rand. Aroma / bouquet: Aangenaam, halfgesloten. Donker gedroogd fruit, natte bosgrond, zoethout.

Colour: Ruby red with a thin edge. Aroma / bouquet: Pleasant, semi-closed. Dark dried fruit, wet forest floor, licorice. Taste / Aftertaste: Tough and powerful wine, pleasant acidity, powerful, tough tannins reminiscent of laurel licorice, long, somewhat drying aftertaste. This fits with my note from 2009 where I describe the tannins as 'greenish'. This hardness, in a 17 year old Napa-Bordeaux blend, is no longer going to improve. General / potential: Food wine, not 'fireplace wine'. 50 + Colour: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 10 + Taste / Aftertaste: 16 + General / potential: 9 = 90/100

May 3, 2023 - Lush black fruit aromas upon decanting: blackberry, dark cherry, cassis, with soft vanilla. Flavors reflected those with round, soft tannins and a long finish. Consumed over 5 hours with no fading. Purchased and cellared upon release, this may not get any better but I don’t think it’s going downhill either.

May 23, 2020 - Decanted and served immediately. Although it was approachable like that, it certainly opened up more over the next hour.
Ripe black fruits over leather, gravel and pepper. Palate is bright and full flavoured, mouth watering and appealing. Tannins are integrating nicely. Delicious now, with more upside potential.

November 11, 2019 - Black olive, cooked tobacco, integrated, good tertiaries coming through, hint of sweet impression from age. Fantastic. Spago tasting with Scott Gould

August 15, 2019 - Napa with friends; 8/15/2019-8/18/2019 (Napa, CA): From magnum. Tried side by side with the '07 Bond Quella - I slightly preferred the '06 Vecina. Dark fruited, loamy earth and forest floor long finish - dusty tannins. Always one of my favorites in the Bond line-up and this one is starting to mature nicely but another decade should show even more improvement.
