July 6, 2019 - Fourth of July Weekend (Rocknroller's (Kevin & Vicki's Place)): Dark golden color. Drank a 2 oz pour over 30 minutes. Drank this after the '88 Lafaurie which was the right call. This was quite good too, but more one dimensional and a lot sweeeter and more unctuous. Super ripe fruits, ripe apricot nose and palate, baked apples, full bodied and sweet. 91+ to 92pts.

July 6, 2019 - Mixed Bag at Kevin's (Minneapolis, MN): Apricots, slightly oxidized, orange peel, spice and orange marmalade preserves. Certainly this wine has peek so drink up. Enjoyable overall.

January 15, 2018 - Dönnhoff Eiswein (2009-11) et al. (Chicago, IL): This is a really fleshy, full-bodied pinot gris, and for such a fairly nondescript grape, this shows a real load of interest. There seems to be at least some botrytis, but what's interesting here for me are the melon notes. The palate is generously sweet (Spaetlese level), and although the acidity isn't 100% there to balance it but there is more than enough extract to do the trick. Showing brilliantly and really enjoyable.

July 13, 2015 - Really orangey, Seville orange, bittersweet, moderate sugar and serious acidity. In fact, the more I drink the more this seems all about the acidity.

July 8, 2015 - Really interesting sticky, very umami on the nose with a bit of honey. Lovely silky body, quite dry at this point, terrific acidity. Unusual and quite tasty. Drink now.
