March 2, 2019 - Beaucoup de fruits et de matière.
Prunes et noix avec une finale longue et capiteuse.

February 2, 2019 - I served this in my wine course. Beautiful nose of spicy peppery panforte, licorice, dried berries. Rich mouth with a big emphasis on the licorice and fruit. Long finish with baking spices and a return of intense pepperiness that reminds me of Sechuan peppercorns. Not always a big fan of Port, but this is truly outstanding. I only wish I could revisit this in a couple decades.

January 13, 2019 - Yes, it is borderline infanticide...but just so yummy. Turning the corner from primary, showing layers of depth and flavor, this is the perfect winter nightcap. Viscous with still just a bit of heat, it is a mouth coating ride of kirsch and raspberry liqueur and simply fun to drink. Having a terrific port open and available on a cold night is an underrated pleasure.

December 16, 2018 - Opened a 1/2. Inky thick juice, displaying smoothness and copious notes of roasted plums, raisins, date paste, sweet tar, black/blue fruits, on a velvety blanket. Certainly good now and will hold for many more decades.

November 8, 2018 - A Special 40th Anniversary Celebration (Restaurant Daniel, New York City): I wish I'd spent more time on this, but by the time it was poured, I was quite spent myself! A powerful Port, compact and chewy, and showing some heat I thought, along with fine salinity and a slightly charred aspect I enjoyed.
