August 26, 2023 - Even more fresh than the bottle of nine years ago, go figure. Great color, fill, and brightness. Typical aromas and flavors, and to be sure, this particular bottle was in a great place. Not too sweet, but confident, fresh, and with a gentle, pleasing and well-balanced length. What really helped it to shine was the pairing: cherry bavarois, ganache, bleu merengue. Remaining bottles should be so lucky to be in such fine shape. 12,5% abv. Drink or hold. recommended

February 26, 2022 - Still kicking! Nice bottle to go with light desserts, loads of dried apricot and honey. Seems in a good spot now, sugar starting to subside.

October 30, 2015 - Very nice, medium plus body. Medium caramel colored at this stage but holding its flavor profile quite well. Drank one several years ago before the darker coloration and I think it is better now. Flavors are more subtle or mature, with some caramel notes, a touch of acidity still remaining in the background and finishes with a lingering but mild petrol note. My wife likes it very much as did friends. Can't drink too much in one sitting but a good finishing aperitif. 90+

October 25, 2014 - Seems to be at or slightly past peak, with a dark straw toward golden color. Aromas of roasted nuts, dried apricots, honey and river rocks. Medium-bodied, with average finish and complexity. Went really (really) well with some homemade cookies from a local bakery; stronger cheeses would overpower this, so stick with cookies, tarts and/or berries. Drink now. 12,5% abv.

November 24, 2012 - No doubt this wine is very well made, with fantastic balance of sweetness and acidity.

However I just did not enjoy the taste that much. Very interesting, but not my thing.

October 21, 2011 - Excellent and very very interesting. Pungent nutty/moldy aromas on the initial pull which quickly gave way to apricots, apples, light gingerbread aromas, and more nuts. The apples, apricots, and gingerbread were joined by lightly burnt caramel, and walnuts on the palate. Creamy, round mouthfeel with good acidity, moderate sweetness, and excellent complexity. I really like the way this wine seemed to constantly evolve and challenge you with every sip - just when you think you've got it figured out, poof there's something new. Great maturity - glad I have another one.

May 9, 2009 - SMELL: Hints of honey, banana peel, graham crackers, and even band aid on the nose.
TASTE: Very creamy and very, very smooth. Great balance with an enjoyable amount of sweetness. Tastes like a lemon lime custard or creme brule. My first Tokaji and will definitely try some more of this varietal.
