February 6, 2024 - Still with freshness and succulence. Honeysuckle blossom and orange creamsicle nose, honeyed melon and peach.
October 8, 2023 - Medium yellow color. Shows a hint of spritz. Pungent petrol bouquet. On the palate, medium sweet, petrol undertaste. Well balanced wine. Delicious now.
October 29, 2014 - Early maturity. crunchy acidity and yellow fruit with a sweet grapey component. Not a particularly intense Leitz, but pleasurable.
September 28, 2012 - Great minerality and viscocity with hints of kiwi and melon with a nicely evolving finish and was likely consumed before it fully opened. It was a shell of its original youthful self.
June 26, 2012 - Disappointing, though perhaps that explains the deep discount. Overwhelming petroleum nose and taste.
November 30, 2011 - Pale yellow
Mild nose of flowers
Medium body
Taste a bit sweet
A bit young
October 10, 2011 - Classy and flavorful. Bright acidity playing foil to honeyed, big fruit. I like this kind of Riesling. Paired with a grilled pork loin. Worked well. Leitz continues to deliver QPR. Was good on a day 2, if not as impactful as the nose had settled a bit.
March 20, 2011 - This wine has gotten some really solid cellartracker scores, but to be honest, I really don't see it. On the nose, underlying citrus, pear, some yellow apple and white peach. Maybe a faint streak of pineapple. Youthful nose. Medium minus intensity on the aroma. Some complexity but not nearly enough. Palate is a disappointment. Conveys off-dry to medium sweetness, but a somewhat short length. Medium acidity for a rieslng. A good wine, but not even nearly great.
January 29, 2011 - Very nice! Tasted among several other wines.
January 4, 2011 - Maturing nicely, but still way too early to appreciate this caliber of wine.
