April 12, 2024 - Very dry cork and a struggle to open but far more live and precision that most from the vintage. Perhaps outmatched by the spice at Sky Palace, but lovely, lovely stuff. Re-buy in a heartbeat.

May 27, 2023 - It's been a surprisingly very long time between drinks. A fine bottle in 2008 and another in 2010, which was fine plus. So, I have unknowingly waited another 13 years to uncork this bottle. And speaking of the cork, this is in excellent condition (with big tartaric acid crystals stuck to it), soft and with a good memory, It's marked with the digits 138, though the one from my initial bottle was marked with 187. A different batch, then? What significance this has, I don't know, but if it's a higher grade cork then that could play an important role as the wine ages.

Anyway, the wine has a bright yellowish colour and starts with mild tropical fruit aromas. After two hours these have given way to pungent citrus, hay, talc, some honey, white peach and fleeting wax. Conceptually, it occupies the place between spring blossom and summer fruit. Initially, the palate seems simple in a soft tropical fruit sort of way, but 2 hours later becomes creamy and pungent, with gingery semi-tones and with a seamless texture. Though the length is ordinary, the mouth is just lovely. Fine plus, with a promising future.

March 25, 2022 - Day 2 - light sweet, a little bony (the vineyard - I always find GH a bit narrow), and soft (the vintage) - sweet with honey and sugar and some citric tropicals - a bit of passion fruit, a hint of lime, white flowers, maybe Mandarin - but not super acidic. The palate shows those fruits in a soft not high acid version and we get some banana and mango. The finish is sweet, floral, tropical. Nose - 4.5/6, Palate - 5/6, Finish - 4.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1/2 = 15/20.

February 18, 2020 - This bottle seems a bit softer - less acid, sweeter than the past two. Also more tropical fruit on the palate. Still tasty.
