December 2, 2012 - This is drinking very well right now. Full-bodied, almost cab-like. No complaints whatsoever!
November 12, 2010 - Nice nutty aroma. Dark cherry.
August 28, 2010 - Decanted about 2 hours before we ate. Smooth with nice balance. Great deep color. Went wonderfullly with dinner.
December 20, 2009 - a nice solid merlot. Good nose and acidity on a fleshy frame. A little lacking in terms of depth and length but over a nice wine especially for the money.
December 12, 2009 - good spot to drink now, great value
October 1, 2009 - I'm not familiar with Peter Wellington's wines, but if you like merlot, this is a decent little wine. Big earth, cherry and spicy vanilla on the nose. Palate follows through with similar profile with some cocoa and baking spices (french oak?) on the finish. Pleasant mouthfeel and weight. Would try again.
September 24, 2009 - Love the earthy dark berry & spice nose of Peter's wines, and this is no exception. Palate is well balanced, good dark fruit, smooth tannins, subtle meatiness. Lots of black pepper, cocoa and/or dark chocolate. Still a bit hot, but I only ran the first glass through the vinturi. I'm sure it'll mellow a bit more while I get dinner ready and continue sipping afterwards. Can't get enough of his wines.
September 2, 2009 - Very enjoyable bottle of wine.
Easy drinking with nice dark, dried fruit showing through the finish.
August 22, 2009 - Dark fruit, bitter coco, nice structure and tannins. Nothing too exciting, bt definately a solid buy in this price range.
June 1, 2009 - While nothing in this wine is particularly noteworthy, it is incredibly smooth and easy drinking. I opened the bottle as I was preparing dinner and proceeded to sip my way through half the bottle before it was ready! As with all of Peter's offerings, the QPR on this is fantastic.
