December 2, 2023 - Dark ruby red, not a hint of brown at the rim. Dusty hints of eucalyptus and cedar, not much detectable fruit. Smooth as all get-out, medium-bodied, simultaneously mellow and tensile. Absolutely perfect with grilled lamb loin chops—surprisingly we were able to grill in early December in New England!

October 8, 2023 - The nose is still a little reductive to start but this blows off with a few minutes in the glass. This is still surprisingly a bit early on its arc of maturity and expands on the palate, offering a delectable, supple, sumptuous yet elegant raspberry, wild strawberry, and rose profile, buttressed by a little cedar. With tannins that are already civilized and a relatively short finish, it seems sensible to think about starting in on these in earnest in about 2-5 years and drinking them over the following 20 or so.

August 26, 2023 - Nice, elegant and refined. Last bottle of a case of 12, and probably the best. A bit tart when it was young, this wine is now fresh, not fatigued, and soft.

May 18, 2023 - Top class and elegant Saint Julien. Really hits the Bordeaux mark with lots of depth in a quiet way. Earth, night flowers, subtle licorice. Really pretty. Drink

May 16, 2023 - Nez profond, cassis, encre, poivron rouge, pointe grillée. Bouche assez droite, avec de la structure, tanins de qualité, finale un peu stricte, cassis, fumée. Beau vin classique, manque un peu d'éclat.

(Chateau Branaire Ducru) #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-you get this beautiful lavender meets blueberry pie; huge intensity; very serious; dark fruit; very elegant and polished; very smooth almost ocean like; PALATE-this wine is friggin' SPECTACULAR; this is beautiful, textbook Bordeaux; there is huge intensity of fruit coming through; there's AMAZING blackberry, blueberries and black currant; a hint of leather, but jammy, jammy fruit that provides a delicious factor that's in the 100 point range; Beautiful, Great, this is just Fantastic! I I'm completely blown away by how well this is drinking; the smoothness of this wine is ridonkulous; one of the best wines I've had this year; this completely ROCKS my face off; Spectacular!!!
