February 20, 2020 - Quite primary and bit clunky. Consumed in a choatic setting without a significant decant but I wouldn't put this in the same league as, say, VCC '00 or '01 which in the same price category.

February 10, 2020 - Decanted for an hour at Pasjoli restaurant in Santa Monica with Bill. Beautiful fragrant nose, hints of tobacco. On the palate smooth red fruit, oak, and just velvety secondary flavors in the long finish. With pressed duck, magnificent pairing. A great meal to enjoy with my last bottle of ‘00!

February 4, 2020 - We caught this wine at peak, I think. Wonderful flavors of ripe dark fruits and a lick of coal dust with a voluptuous silky texture and a fine limestone mineral grip. It’s also well-balanced and very fresh. The finish is quite complex with notes of smoky eucalyptus and more minerals. Yum! With Tom Black in Nashville.

January 12, 2020 - This is just great today. Drinking in the perfect pace, you find a concentrated, lush, round, full-bodied, sensuously textured wine that serves up its floral, chocolate, smoke, licorice, dark plum and ripe cherries, with a side of truffles with little effort. Decanted 30 minutes, the wine hit all the right notes.

December 25, 2019 - Drank two for Christmas lunch. Lovely, serious wine. Probably early.
