August 31, 2014 - Golden amber color. Fully mature, probably a decade ago. Now over the hill, or for English palates. Aroma primarily of caramel and a hint of lacquer. Tastes rounded and full bodied, with burnt vanilla, shellac, bitter lemons, and a long and bitter aftertaste. A bit too much alcohol as well.

August 19, 2014 - Amber gold, nuts and caramel with acidity to keep old flavors crisp on palate. Monument.

February 9, 2013 - Badly oxidized. Dumped. Pisses me off that I paid all that $$ on release and this is what I get.

December 28, 2012 - While very old now, amazing strength. Gold, almost brown now. Grew into something between a Sauternes and a 20 year Tawny Port. Went very well with a cave aged Swiss mountain cheese from Graubünden.

October 30, 2012 - Same amazing panoply of walnut and citrus oils with focusing acids.

October 6, 2012 - Over the hill, but still a nice wine. I would have liked to taste it in its prime.

May 3, 2012 - Mixed reviews here; if maderized wines are not your thing then bingo bad but if you dig oxidized stuff like madiera then this wine is super. Amber color, nut and tangerine oils on nose and palate but unlike many old Kistler chards this baby has the acidity to stretch out and keep in linear razor-sharp focus the funky flavor profile. This is superlative juice.

April 21, 2012 - MBEF Wine Auction Group Dinner 2012 (Tells): Off-color; dark golden; oxidized, spoiled; suspect exposed to heat. Bought at auction, so cause of problem is unclear.
