June 22, 2023 - Unfortunately over the hill; I should have had it years ago. Sour. With copious bitter green (which was probably there before it oxidized). Not a pleasant experience.

February 13, 2022 - As I engage in the distressing process of culling wines from my cellar (due to my impending move in less than a month) I'm trying to get thru my older bottles that might be fading or dead already. Popped n' poured this baby yesterday in Copake with the SB guys. Pleasantly surprised by the excellent condition of this bottle. Aromas of leather and olives on the nose. Still good amount of black and red currant fruit. Also, notes of pepper, leather and earth. Nice balance here. Tannins fully resolved. Not particularly complex and, actually, a bit sweet on the finish. Nice bottle in good shape. Apparently produced by the same team that owns Cheval Blanc and d'Yquem.

January 24, 2021 - MikeATL has a pretty accurate note, "Not terribly complex, but a solid, well-aged Bordeaux, a little pyrazine bell pepper and leather over a core of currants with fine tannin and a touch of freshening acidity." I'll add that it also shows hints of dried pine needles and cedar.

It's a very delightful and surprising experience given that this cost me $8 on futures from KLWines (back in 2001). Marjosse was crafted by the same team that owns Cheval Blanc and d'Yquem.

January 3, 2021 - A really nice wine, drinking well and a fantastic value. In a good drinking window, but I sense we've just created the peak.

June 5, 2018 - Not terribly complex, but a solid, well-aged Bordeaux, a little pyrazine bell pepper and leather over a core of currants with fine tannin and a touch of freshening acidity. It makes me happy.

    May 20, 2018 - Note: I use a scale on which 85 represents a very good wine.

I have been targeting the 2000 Bordeaux in my cellar, and this is the fifth bottle I have had this week.
None have disappointed. Fruit still there, great balance. Just not deep, complex, strong enough for the magical 90.
Opened up a bit after decanting.

February 14, 2017 - Really wish this wasn't my last bottle. It has really come into its own. Cassis, very well balanced tannins, terrific structure, long finish. Peaking now.
