As others tasting notes had observed, this wine had a sweet edge to It on the fruit. Contrary to what others have found, we both found there were certainly tannins present here, and the wine - which was decanted for thirty minutes or so into a decanter, before back to the bottle - did not seem past it or faded. Drunk with a juicy thick steak, thinly sliced and drizzled with balsamic vinegar, rosemary oil and Parmesan - the wine paired well and they complimented one another very nicely.
Second day - my partner felt it displayed increased tannic presence. I found the sweetness gone on the second day.
A good wine, and contrary to what other tasters had noted, it has held up well and my concerns that this may not have lasted the journey were unfounded. -

Not as pleasant as the 2005. Uninteresting wine.

September 17, 2016 - Nothing wrong with this although it is out of balance with the tannins and alcohol predominating. Nothing at all to tell me this is Italian unfortunately. I doubt this will improve but it's hard to be sure.
