November 24, 2018 - Tasted blind, this wine had a deep red center with puce/tan rims. The medium+ intensity nose offered up mocha, blackberries, minerals, and some tan spices.
In the mouth, this wine was refined and light bodied but with good length. The tannins were fully resolved and the wine was well balanced. It just seemed to be a little shy on complexity.
Was the bottle open long enough? I believe so and, thus, I have to call it like I see it. But this wine could have upside under the right circumstances. -

June 5, 2018 - A good, but probably not perfect example still allowed the complicated perfume, with its sweet tobacco, smoke, wet earth, campfire embers and red plum notes to shine through. Elegant and refined, with a softly textured finish, you were left with sweet and tart red cherries, earth and smoke in the finish.

October 23, 2011 - Palmer Vertical (Boka): Soft dark fruits, with good balance and fine, caressing texture. Medium bodied. Mature. Earthy with mushroom notes. Very nice.

October 23, 2011 - Chateau Palmer Dinner (Boka - Chicago IL): Great spice and caramel on nose with aromas of forest floor reduced mushrooms. Wonderful meaty and elegant mushroom flavors. Spice and sweet fruit/oak near finish. Really great textures through good finish, good length. Really charming.

December 15, 2008 - Drunk with the wineterminator at our x-mas best bottel - wasn't the oldest wine that night: http://www.weinterminator.de/50534695dc0952507/500458949a0e5fd0a/0331159b790f92e02.html
Very intense nose: Leather, delicate yet strong scent of Brettanomyces, loads of old saddle, some mocha. Bold tase of matured Bordeaux. No fruit, but masculine secondary aromas. Again old saddle, leather, some hints of chocolate, horse sweat, cedar wood. Still supported by delicious tannins. No wine for wimps.
