March 2, 2019 - An Epic Vertical of Petrus (Ten Trinity Latour Club, London): Ultrafine satiny tannins caress the tongue. Dark chocolate and tertiary flavor development. So beautiful.

November 16, 2018 - 1971 Bordeaux (3030 Ocean, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida): Not for the first time, a Pétrus limps in at last place in a comparative tasting of its peers. This bottle, from Leland Little with a very top shoulder level and beautiful maroon color, certainly looked sound. And there’s lots to like, from its soft and spicy red fruit flavors with a touch of soy and cinnamon to its splendid texture. And yet - it doesn’t add up to anything dazzling as the tariff would imply. Perhaps this is one case where I would enjoy it more if I didn’t see the label.

August 10, 2018 - Quite youthful with a very focused nose and dark black fruit on the palate. Upside to this bottle. 96+

March 29, 2018 - Youthful complexion upon opening, this bottle softened and opened after 2 hours of air time. Elegance on the palate despite its relative youth.

March 3, 2018 - Petrus Tasting (Berans am Kai): Schwarzer Tee, etwas Minze, Erdbeere, Himbeere, elegant, viel Frucht bei feiner zurückhaltender Säure. Enorme Konzentration. Der Wein baut mit jeder Minute mehr Druck auf, der nicht enden will. Beginnt gerade seinen Peak zu erreichen, den er sicherlich noch 30 Jahre halten wird. 99+
