February 4, 2020 - Just a gorgeous style of Petrus here. Silky, elegant, refined, regal and also sexy and lusty The plums, cherries, smoke, truffle and bitter chocolate with the right amount of fresh roses are all over the place. But it is the sensuality and opulence in the finish that owns the wine. Fully mature, there is no reason to hold off drinking this wine as it has faded just a bit from its peak.

January 4, 2020 - The P Wine (Bourbon Steak, Aventura, Florida): True to its vintage the ‘71 Pétrus is soft and cuddly compared to the younger and bolder examples. And a bit too acidic as well. Perfectly pleasant though and enjoyable but far from exciting.

December 19, 2019 - Sweet, lychee aromatics and palate. You get this lychee with Merlot sometimes and can't say I love it. Just me.

December 6, 2019 - Decanted for an hour. Dark chocolate, cocoa, white truffles, leather and dried flower medley. Deep, dark and aging very well, there’s bricking around the rim and a garnet core. Very long and the mouthfeel is almost luxurious. There is not a better 1971 Bordeaux around (like Palmer in 1970). So much personality, uniqueness and classicism. The bottle was in wonderful condition, with an intact cork; high shoulder fill. This will be fun twenty years from now. Drink now -.

March 2, 2019 - An Epic Vertical of Petrus (Ten Trinity Latour Club, London): Ultrafine satiny tannins caress the tongue. Dark chocolate and tertiary flavor development. So beautiful.
